Editorial policy

How we research, write and keep our guides accurate.

Our purpose

We help UK tradespeople and small service businesses choose software with confidence. Every page should leave a reader better able to make a decision — whether or not they click a link.

Independence

  • Software companies cannot pay for inclusion, placement or a better verdict.
  • Products without an affiliate programme are included whenever they are a good fit for readers.
  • The commission a provider pays plays no part in rankings or recommendations.
  • Providers do not see or approve our articles before publication.

Accuracy

  • Facts such as prices, plans and features are checked against the provider’s own UK website and dated.
  • We say how each article was researched, and only claim hands-on testing when it took place.
  • Anything we couldn’t verify is labelled, or left out.
  • We don’t publish invented statistics, reviews, ratings or testimonials.

Practical focus

We judge software by the everyday jobs of a small trade business: answering enquiries, quoting, scheduling and getting paid. Where we describe a measurable result, we only do so with evidence.

Updates and corrections

We review commercial pages regularly and update them when prices or features change. Articles show the date they were last updated. If you spot a mistake, please tell us — we correct errors promptly and note significant corrections on the page.

AI assistance

We may use AI tools to help with research organisation and drafting. Every article is checked and edited by a person, and facts are verified against primary sources before publication.
